Re:              CSA FIELD GRANT APPLICATIONS DUE BY 10/07/16

The CSA membership established a Field Fund in 1997 to aid in the development and improvement of soccer fields throughout Colorado. During the 18 years of our field grant program, CSA has awarded field grants totaling over $1.5 million to our member clubs. A detailed summary of the CSA field grants has been provided along with this letter.

Grant applications (application form) for the 2016 grant cycle should be e-mailed to Lisa Stibley in the CSA office at any time, the sooner the better, but no later than 10/07/16. The Field Grant Committee will meet later in October 2016 to recommend grants to the CSA Board of Directors. The Field Grant Committee has historically awarded grants based on the following priorities:

1. Construction of new synthetic turf or grass outdoor fields.

2. Improvements for or repairs to existing field or fields.

3. Improvements (parking, bathroom facilities, lights, etc.) for a field complex.

4. Grants to design or fundraise for construction of a field complex.

After CSA Board approval of a grant, a commitment letter will be sent to each recipient club. The recipient club will then have two years to claim the funds upon presentation of proper documentation for expenses incurred.

If your club is undertaking a field project, call Bruce Dickinson, Chairman of the Field Grant Committee, at 303-377-0082 to discuss your application before sending the application to Lisa Stibley. Field grants will only be considered for clubs that have registered all their players with CSA. If the fields are not owned by the club, a long term (preferably 10 years) lease agreement or letter of understanding granting your organization priority use of the fields must accompany the application. Please also indicate if any additional approvals from land owners or governmental authorities are require to proceed with your field project.
