LEXINGTON, KY (May 13, 2020) - The COVID-19 Virus (Coronavirus) continues to have an impact on all our local communities. This is a very fluid situation and will continue to evolve in the coming days and weeks. The safety of all our members continues to be our primary focus.
That being said, in order to assist with the on-going effort to assess the impact and combat COVID-19;
- The Kentucky Youth Soccer Board of Directors voted to extend the suspension of all programs and activities through June 14, 2020 to follow Governor Beshear’s potential reopening of youth sports on June 15, 2020. Kentucky Youth Soccer will continue to monitor the COVID-19 virus and may be extended at a later time if deemed necessary.
- Kentucky Youth Soccer Board of Directors voted unanimously to strongly recommend all member clubs to temporarily suspend all in-person soccer and related activities June 14, 2020, with such recommendation and/or time period being subject to later change by the Board of Directors
All other club activities, including tournaments and team training, should review above and assess a course of action on a case-by-case basis. Any unaffiliated games will not be covered by Kentucky Youth Soccer insurance company.
It is critical that all of our members are aware of the most current and accurate information regarding Kentucky Youth Soccer related activities as events unfold in the coming days and weeks. This can be found on our website at kysoccer.net and social media channels: Facebook and Twitter.
We truly appreciate everyone’s understanding and flexibility during these unprecedented times.
