Today, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, is a day to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy of diversity, tolerance, equal opportunity and inclusion, principles we embrace at Indiana Soccer Association. Great progress has been made since Dr. King’s death, but some recent events, including a very disturbing incident reported in local and national media that appears to involve soccer-playing teens in Zionsville, are a sad reminder that much work remains. Please join Indiana Soccer in celebrating Dr. King’s legacy and condemning recent demonstrations of hate and ignorance. On this day and throughout 2019 and beyond, we remind and encourage ISA-affiliated players, coaches, parents, and administrators to use our great sport as an instrument for good in your communities.
