Utah Youth Soccer Association is excited to announce that 4 Utah teams are Far West Regional Champions. After advancing out of pool play, winning their quarterfinal, semifinal and final matches, Utah Celtic FC 15U, 18U and 19U girls’ teams and Sparta U18 boys are now Champions of the Far West Regional Championships and will advance to National Championships from July 23-28 in Overland Park, KS. An additional team (La Roca 18U Girls) advance as Far West Regional Representatives as well. Meaning, a new record, 5 Utah teams will compete at Nationals. Utah Celtic FC Girls 15U, 18U, 19U, La Roca Girls 18U. And Sparta Boys 18U. Utah has never had a team win National Championships.
Semifinal Recap:
Utah Advanced a record Seven (7) teams to the Regional final. 6 Girls teams and 1 Boys Team. Clubs represented Celtic (3), Sparta (2), La Roca (1), Forza (1). The Girls 18U match will feature an All Utah bracket Celtic vs. La Roca with both teams advancing to Nationals (Celtic already advanced through National league). Semifinal Goal differential was closer GF (19) GA (15). Two Utah teams went to PK's BU15 Sparta lost 4-5 and La Roca G18U won 4-3.
