3 Utah Referees Receive National Recognition

Sandy, UT (7/26/2017)

Three Utah Referees were recognized and honored to be selected to officiate National Events this year. One was called into National Championships while the other two went to Florida for National Presidents Cup.

National Championships

Congratulations to our own Utah referee, Kali Hamby Smith, who is one of 96 referees chosen to officiate in the US Youth Soccer National Championships in Frisco, Texas this week. With over 135,000 referees nationwide, being invited to the national level is a great honor. The selection process for referees for the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series is based on performance throughout the Series at tournaments such as State Cup and Far West Regionals. Kali has consistently demonstrated that she is one of the best referees in the State. Congraulations Kali!

National Presidents Cup

Two Utah referees were selected to attend the 2017 National Presidents Cup earlier this month. Congratulations to Jordan Downs and Paul Burgess who stood out at Regional Presidents Cup and received the invite to represent Utah at the national championship event in Florida.

Thank you to all of the amazing referees in the state and please help us to celebrate and recognize these three outstanding individuals for the work that they do for the game of soccer in Utah.
