Three Utah teams to play in Regional Presidents Cup Championships

After five long days and five matches each, three Utah teams have secured themselves spots in the championship games of their perspective age groups today (Sunday) at the Salt Lake Regional Athletic Complex.

Boys 17U 7 Elite Academy South will play Wolves FC from California at 8:45 am (Field 12).

Girls 17U L30 Crush will play Broomsfield Blast from Colorado at 8:00 am (Field 11).

Girls 18U L30 Nitro will play Sting Timbers from Idaho at 10:15 am (Field 1).

7 Elite Academy 01 South is based in St. George, Utah and coached by Stuart Dewey. They have gone undefeated in tournament play, beating teams from Oregon, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona and Idaho. Their game today is against another undefeated side from California. 7 Elite Academy has scored 23 goals in their 5 tournament matches.

L30 Crush 01 is a South Weber, Utah team coached by Chris Loock. After a loss in their first preliminary play game against Pride Predators from Colorado, Crush has defeated each team since. Their opponent, Broomfield Blast SC Magista out of Colorado has been undefeated in the tournament thus far.

L30 Nitro from South Ogden and coached by Chris Simmons is in the tournaments oldest age group. These girls went undefeated in preliminary play and faced Celtic FC out of Heber, Utah in quarterfinals. Nitro walks into today’s match after 5 tournament games allowing only 2 goals and netting 13.
