The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. 2018 Ogden City SC Open try out

OGDEN, Utah - Ogden City S.C. is pleased to announce its spring open tryout for the 2018 Premier Development League (PDL) season. The spring open tryout will be held on Friday March 23 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Geneva Turf Fields on the campus of Utah Valley University.

 

On Saturday March 24 from 10 a.m. to – 1 p.m. there will be an invitation only tryout. Players that attend Friday’s tryout have the opportunity to be invited back on Saturday for the invite only event. The invite only will be held at the Geneva Turf Fields on the campus of Utah Valley University.

 

Geneva Turf Fields - 600 Mill Road, Vineyard, Utah.

DIRECTIONS - Coming from I-15 North or South, take the Center Street exit in Orem.  Head west off of the freeway.  Head straight through Geneva Rd at the light. Follow the road until it winds back north. Turn left at the green sign that says UVU Intramural Fields. The parking lot is on the right and fields are on the right.

 

All open tryout players will be required to register and pay a $50 tryout fee, players must pre-register. NO walk-ups will be allowed to participate. The fee will cover an Ogden City S.C. tryout t-shirt as well as any supplemental or invite training sessions.

Ogden City S.C., Utah’s only PDL club, will play a 14-game schedule between the months of May-August. The PDL is the top supplier of talent for professional soccer in North America.

The top U23 men’s league in North America, the PDL is the destination league for college-aged players to continue their development toward the professional ranks with clubs from across North America not only competing for a championship each summer, but also providing the opportunity for top-level competition for the best players in the college ranks. In addition to league play, PDL teams compete in various exhibitions as well as the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. 

 

Nearly 70 percent of all MLS SuperDraft selections since 2010 have PDL experience, including a total of 59 alums chosen in 2017. Among the many players to have played in the PDL before making their professional debuts include Newcastle United FC defender DeAndre Yedlin, 2017 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Tim Melia, 2017 MLS Defender of the Year Ike Opara and U.S. Men’s National Team members such as Darlington Nagbe, Brad Guzan, Geoff Cameron and Tim Ream.
