UYSA hosted a live draw for the seeding of the U11 age groups for State Cup! Below are the results!
Below are the rules of how the live draw was done:
1. In the U11 age group bracket, the top two ranked teams from the Purple division and the top two ranked teams from the Orange division based off of the most recent UYSA alignment (for Premier this will before the fall season), will be placed in pot one. The four teams will then be drawn to determine into what pool they will be placed (A, B, C, D). These teams will be the first seed in each pool. * If the bracket has only three pools, the final team that is drawn will play in the same pool as the third seed.
2. All remaining teams will be placed in pot two. The remaining teams will then be drawn at random to fill the remaining spots in the pools.
3. If more than 16 teams register in the U11 age group, pool sizes will be extended to accommodate additional teams.
We based seeding off of the fall alignment for Premier because they play a year long season and that season isn’t completed.
With the girls seeding there will be 3 groups, one group of three teams and two groups of four teams. We will take the top two of each bracket along with two wildcards. To determine the wildcards we will be applying our rule of adjusted scoring listed below:
Adjusted Game Scoring is used to fill in points for teams in age groups that have an uneven number of teams within their different groups. Groups with 3 teams will have played fewer games at the end of bracket play compared to teams in the other groups. Adjusted game scoring works by awarding each team in the group of 3 teams the average points of their total points to their total. For example, if in the U11 girls age group Group A will have 3 teams and each team plays 2 games in pool play and groups B and C have 4 teams and each team plays 3 games in pool play, adjusted game scoring will be used for Group A.
With the boys there will be four groups with three groups of 4 teams and one group of 5 teams. We will take the top two from each group to determine who will advance to the quarterfinal.
