Group play has ended onto the quarterfinals! In an intense and action packed night of 23 games, most with big implications on who would advance, several in win or go home games. When all the dust settled a little after 9:45 pm, the quarterfinals were set. 15 different clubs have teams in the quarterfinals. Leading the way are AFC Apex, La Roca, and Sparta with 5 teams a piece. Utah Rangers, Utah Surf, Forza, and USA all have multiple teams that advanced. That leaves, 8 other clubs with representatives in the quarterfinals, including one from Region 6 with Liverpool F.C. 99B SG.
No games today, but be sure to check out the start of the knockout rounds on Saturday at 10:00am with the second round of games at noon.

Drama in the 16U age group! With Utah Surf beating AFC Apex 3-0, and Blue Knights beating La Roca 3-2, there was a 3 way tie at the top in group C. Those results meant that Utah Surf jumped from outside the knockout rounds to topping the group on tiebreaker. Several more tiebreakers later and despite the loss, AFC Apex survived.

Separation at the top as each group winner did not lose a game throughout the group stage and only 1 team even dropped a point. Look for defending champions Sparta 01 Premier JK take on a hot La Roca AO team on Saturday.

The one age group with wild cards means that both groups B and C have their top 3 teams advance. Group A only had 2 teams advance, and both AFC Apex teams advanced from that group.

AFC Apex 99 College Prep faced off with Sparta 99 Premier MD with the group on the line, both teams came out to play and left with a 1-1 draw. The result meant not only a tie on the field but a tie in the standings on points. After the tiebreaker, AFC Apex ended up on top with Sparta taking second in group C.
