GREENVILLE, S.C. (June 17, 2018) – Of the 11 North Texas Soccer teams that began the tournament, 13-Under Girls Sting Dallas 05 Roach and 16-Under Girls Mutiny FC 02 White were crowned champions at the 2018 US Youth Soccer Southern Presidents Cup. 15U Sparta FC and 17U Q Factor 01 reached the finals.

The 2018 Southern Presidents Cup took place June 13-17 at MeSa Soccer Complex in Greenville, S.C. The tournament will feature featured teams in the 13-Under through 18-Under Boys and Girls age groups with the winners advancing to the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup, which will be held July 11-15 in Westfield, Ind.

North Texas teams join other South Region State Associations: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Texas and Tennessee.

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is designed for those teams seeking additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a state, regional and national title. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.

13-Under Girls
Sting Dallas 05 Roach claimed the 13-Under Girls title with a 2-0 win against OK Energy Central Green (OK) in the finals. Sting, which is headed to the National Presidents Cup in July, finished with a 3-0-2 record while scoring eight goals and conceding only two.

15U Sparta Finals

Sparta FC fell to 03 BSC Cardinal (NC) 3-1 in a rematch of the third day of group play. Sparta finishes with a 3-1 record while scoring 15 goals and only allowing five.

16U Mutiny Team Photo

Mutiny scored two goals in the second half to secure a 2-0 win against Lakewood Rush 02/03 Black (AR). Mutiny qualified for the National Presidents Cup and finished with a 4-0-1 record while scoring 17 goals and only letting in two.

17U Q Factor Finals

17-Under Girls
Q Factor 01 twice rallied from a goal down in the finals against NUSA Maroon (TN), but the North Texas side could not rally a third time as the final score showed 3-2. Q Factor finished with a 4-1 record while scoring a whopping 22 goals and conceding three.
