The Region III ODP Camp is structured to accommodate and staffed to work with state teams. It will be a policy of the ASSA ODP to only send complete age group teams to Region III ODP Camp. You can assist this process by encouraging friends and teammates in your age group to participate in the ODP process.
What to bring to ODP Sessions
Please dress for weather conditions. And always bring a soccer ball and water bottle to training/evaluations. In cases of inclement or extreme cold conditions scheduled sessions will be shortened to one and a half hours or less with mostly scrimmage and evaluation taking place. It is our goal not to cancel any scheduled ODP sessions unless fields are closed or become unplayable.
Players should bring: hat, gloves, sweatsuits, waterproof clothing, and any other warm playable clothing to every session as weather dictates. Additionally, a change of dry warm clothes is recommended for the ride home after sessions.

2008 ODP Developmental Age Group Centers (1995 Girls and 1996 Boys)
Goals and Purpose of the ODP Developmental Age Groups
Train and reinforce the technical skills necessary to play at the elite level
Introduce players to; and allow players to become comfortable training and playing with other players and ODP staff coaches outside of their immediate team and club environment; prior to exposing players to the added pressure of the state pool selection process
ODP players will have to adjust to a mixed environment to participate in state and regional ODP and eventually with our US Soccer Youth National Teams
All young players benefit from extra training that focuses on individual skill development and an improved comfort level on the ball as is stressed in each session
Note: Due to cost and staff conflict restraints goalkeeper specialized training is only offered at Burns Park Additional ODP Staff Coaches will be utilized at sectional training/tryouts and ODP Developmental Centers as needed.

ODP Sponsorship
Additional financial support of the ODP program will greatly enhance the experience of our elite players in the state. If you are interested or you know of a business that would like to sponsor the ASSA ODP please contact Glen Tourville at the ASSA State Office 501.833.0550
The Olympic Development Program (ODP) is a national program to identify players who may eventually be selected to a United States national team. The ODP is a multi-step process that begins at the state level and continues to the regional and national pools and teams. The Arkansas State Soccer Association ODP coaches identify pools of players in each age group from across the state and bring them together, to train and develop them for a higher level of play. It is unique, in that, it is one of the few programs that are designed for the individual. While teams are selected at the various levels, it is individual players that are identified and moved to the next level, not teams. The program provides the opportunity for talented players to come together in a setting where knowledge can be gained from both coaches and other players.
1. Recognition as a high level player by the United States Youth Soccer Association, which is a player identification vehicle.
2. Development as a player. The opportunity to train and play with the best players in one's age group.
3. Quality training from top soccer coaches in the state and region.
4. Quality competition. Games against other state ODP teams.
5. Exposure to Regional and National Team coaches.
6. Exposure to college and university coaches.
Player Scouting Information: ODP coaches will have the opportunity to scout players at a variety of tournaments and games in the months of November and December. If you are interested in having an ODP coach attend an event please have your club coach submit a player recommendation form. Although we do not have the staff to attend all games we will strive to make as many as possible.
