2018/19 Mid-South League Conference
The Region III Premier League (Mid-South Conference) provides an elite level of competition for 13U - 19U teams from across the Southern States.
Any team may enter the Premier League. ASSA will review the applications and select the top two teams in each age group & gender to represent the State.

2018/19 Mid-South Conference
Welcome to the 2018-19 US Youth Soccer National League Mid-South Conference! We are looking forward to a great inaugural season under the new US Youth Soccer National League structure! Please read this entire email as it will help your team(s) plan for the upcoming season.

The Mid-South Conference schedule should be posted sometime on Monday, July 30. A decent overview of the schedule may be found on the Mid-South Conference webpage in the General Team Information Document. There will be some variance in the scheduling the Mid-South Conference as it is extremely complicated because of team counts from states, timing of high school seasons, state association State Cups, and complex availability. For a few particular age groups and teams, it will be necessary at time to play 3 games in a weekend. This is certainly not ideal, but it does mitigate traveling several hours for one game. The schedule will final once published. Any reschedules will be done in accordance with the Conference Operating Procedures, which will primarily deal with rain-outs, timing, and extra-ordinary circumstances. Events on SAT or ACT dates will have the older age groups playing later in the day on Saturday so that a player can test in the city where the event is hosted.
Some intra-state matches (TN vs TN, AL vs AL, etc) will be given to the State Association to finalize.they may defer to the teams to schedule. This intra-state scheduling method is meant to give the clubs some flexibility and to lessen travel where possible. There will be some procedures in place regarding the scheduling of these games (when the schedule needs to be final, by what date the games need to be played, etc). Once an intra-state match schedule is confirmed and published, any reschedule must be done in accordance with the Conference Operating Procedures. When the schedule is published, teams will see their intra-state matches "scheduled" on the first week of December.those are simply holding dates until an intra-state schedule is confirmed.
Coach conflicts are being reviewed and attempts will be made to de-conflict a coach with multiple teams in the Mid-South Conference. In order for the Conference to do this as efficiently and effectively as possible, the head coach of the team MUST be accurate in GotSoccer. Each team is strongly encouraged to have an assistant coach who can step in should a conflict arise.
Oct 6/7 in Gulfport: We were recently made aware of a large festival in Gulfport the weekend of Oct 6/7 which has increased hotel cost exponentially with few rooms available. We are currently looking at a few other options in the Gulf Coast area or a bit further inland.
While the Conference discussed the possibility of using Anthony Travel for hotel needs, we will ultimately not be utilizing a Conference wide hotel booking service. Teams may book hotels as they see fit, with one exception. If your team ends up schedule at Mike Rose Soccer Complex in Memphis, this complex requires all traveling teams to use their booking service for hotel needs (stay to play). Information about hotels for this event will be forthcoming and will be sent directly to the teams scheduled for that complex.
The Mid-South Conference is primarily event based, which means teams will travel to one location on their designated date. The Conference, hosting State Associations, and Complexes are working together to make these events a great environment for the teams and spectators.
One of the great things about the new National League structure is that all Conferences will play under the same set of rules, while providing some flexibility where needed. The rules hierarchy of National League is as follows: National League Charter > National League Conference Rules > Conference Operating Procedures. The National League Charter and Conference Rules will be overarching across all Conferences. The Conference Operating Procedures will be specific to each Conference and will be focused on the format, scheduling/rescheduling, rain-outs, fees, qualification, promotion/relegation, etc. These Operating Procedures will be an extension of the National League Conference Rules, so they will be binding for the League Manager to follow and teams to adhere to.
