2013 ODP Academy Camp
The ODP Academy Camp will be held on the University of the Ozarks campus in Clarksville, Arkansas, and will also include ODP teams from Oklahoma (boys), North Texas (boys) and Louisiana (boys and girls).
- June 23-26, 2013 ... 00/01 Boys and Girls
Players will experience a very concentrated learning environment in this camp that will address on-field (physical, technical, and tactical) elements of the game as well as off-field (psychological, cultural, and social) topics. Check-in will be between 1:30-4pm on Sunday (June 23rd), and check-out will be between 11:30am-12:30pm on Wednesday (June 26th). The camp schedule will include eight sessions on the field, featuring a mix of technical and tactical training for both field players and goalkeepers, small-sided games, and full-sided games. Players will also attend two classroom presentations that cover such topics as the history of the game, nutrition for sports, and "mental conditioning" for success as a competitive athlete. To ensure we make the most of this special learning opportunity, some field sessions may be conducted indoors in the event of inclement weather.
Selected players from the U12 (01) and U13 (00) age groups receive priority registration through April 28th. Players will be accepted on a "first-in" basis, and spaces are limited to the first 32 boys and 32 girls who register. After the priority period ends, all other 00/01 players who participated in the ODP Winter Training program will be welcome to register until the enrollment limit has been reached. In addition, classic-level players born between August 1, 2000 and December 31, 2001 who did not participate in ODP this year may also attend the camp (on a "space-available" basis). However, they must first obtain approval from the ASSA Director of Coaching and they cannot register until after the priority period has ended.
The cost to attend this camp is $275 per player ($325 for approved non-ODP players). An initial, non-refundable deposit of $100 is due by April 28 to confirm each player's spot in the Academy Camp. The balance of the camp fee is due by May 19 (payment must be received by this date, not just mailed). A $25 late fee will be added for any player who has not paid the camp fees in full by May 19.
